FEBRUARY 24, 2010 Twilight Jazz Club would like to thank all of the good people on Earth who serve food, entertainment and good times for we love to spend time with you. Twilight Jazz Club lasted for 2 weeks, and it felt great! We learned a lot. We got to play a lot of good music. It will be even better when we can play more music. Please practice peace... AUGUST OFF August events have all been cancelled. We have learned some interesting lessons and are taking the month off while the renovations of the Calabasas Inn are being done. New bathrooms, structural reinforcement on the patio and more are making the building a better, safer place to enjoy ourselves. The renovations should be done in September and re-opening for weddings, banquets, and private parties. We will send out announcements to our e-mail list when we have scheduled dates. The Spa Day at Paul’s Italian Villa has been postponed until further notice. Our beauty technicians had ‘technical’ difficulties and we want to make sure we provide the best service to our clients.

The Twilight Jazz Club Staff JULY EVENTS Thank you for attending the July 3rd and July 10th events at the Calabasas Country Club. We enjoyed your company, the music and atmosphere. There were many improvements to the second event including reduced entry to $10 per person and a delicious appetizer and dessert menu. We are expanding our scope and reaching to more communities. The following events are available to registered guests: July 25, Twilight Social on the Patio of the Calabasas Country Club. July 26, Spa Day at Paul's Italian Villa in Simi Valley. Ladies, bring your friends and daughters to enjoy champagne brunch with live music followed by special salon services. A perfect day of rest. July 31, Friday Night Jazz at Paul's Italian Villa in Simi Valley. Join us after dinner for fine jazz, desserts and cocktails in the banquet room. The opening of Twilight Jazz Club at the Calabasas Inn is coming closer. As we turn in our paperwork, schedule walk-throughs and inspections, our operating funds are needing a big boost. The Twilight Jazz Club Staff STILL FORGING AHEAD The Grand Opening of the Twilight Jazz Club has been delayed as many of you have heard. Thank you for your continued support and well wishes. We assure you that we are determined to see this dream come true. A community of neighbors, musicians, dancers, fans of music, and Calabasas Inn fans have all been coming forward to show their support of this community icon coming back to life. Opening day is still in the air as we forge forward through the paperwork necessary to ensure the legality of our plan. The calendar has been removed until we work through the details of private parties versus open to the public restaurant. Please register on our guest list to be included in updates from the Twilight Jazz Club. The Twilight Jazz Club Staff OPENING DELAY UPDATE Twilight Jazz Club is still gearing up for good times. Please be patient as it is going to be better than we anticipated. Incredible chefs have been working with us to prepare a full dinner menu. We will also be re-opening the wedding, banquet, private party aspect of the Calabasas Inn. We are changing the focus as we learn more and intend for Twilight to be a place for families and community to gather together. Therefore we have been discussing with the local music directors to showcase local high school jazz talents on Tuesday nights. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from the community that are excited to see the facility gaining new life. The Twilight Jazz Club Staff START-UP GLITCH Saturday was gearing up to be a wonderful night. The band was setting up and we had the house filling with a great selection of clientele. When, on a technicality, the city came in and asked us to shut down. Needless to say, the band kept playing and everyone wanted to stay in a true 'Speak Easy' way. Although, we still had to close with respect to the city and will be working first thing Monday morning to better understand what happened with the miscommunication between us and the city. A perfect example of why a soft opening gives us time to work out the kinks. We sincerely apologize to the people who came out to enjoy their Saturday evening with us, and to those that found our doors locked at 9:00. The Twilight Jazz Club Staff NOW OPEN NIGHTLY Thank you to our close friends and family for celebrating the opening of the Twilight Jazz Club. The melodic sounds of The Times Trio of Alowie Ahmad (drums), Adam Kahn (bass), and Dory Bavarsky (piano) were amazing. The beautiful music of the Gaea Schell duo was an enjoyable mixture of piano, singing and bass. Nanette and Jorn impressed everyone with their swing dancing skills which inspired more dancing. The crowd was wonderful and very positive in their response to the updated surroundings of the Calabasas Inn banquet room. Live music is currently being booked and will be posted on the calendar page. The lounge area poker table has been broken in with a few practice poker games in preparation for our charity tournaments. The art work of Rachna Reddy is still on display through the 15th of April. OPENING NIGHT The time has come after much effort from our staff to open a new jazz club in Calabasas called the Twilight Jazz Club. There is a lounge area, dancing area, and a consistently good selection of music playing. In the evenings, live musicians play swing jazz, latin jazz, jazz standards and improvisational jazz.
